Huacaya alpaca fur blanket

There are two types of alpaca, Huacaya (pronounced Wuh-kai-ya) or Suri. Huacaya alpacas have a higher density of hair and a wispy feel. Conversely, Suri alpacas have long, flexible strands that are infinitely soft to the touch. At the top of the Peruvian Altiplano lives the alpaca, a sacred animal. Among the 34 farming communities with which we work, all are located between 4,500 and 5,400 meters above sea level.

In this tropical climate, at high altitudes, temperatures range from 25 ° C during the day to -30 ° C at night throughout the year. In addition to these harsh conditions, there is also the rainy season from January to March. The combination of these extreme temperatures with high humidity is thus fatal for some of the alpacas. This loss is both sentimental and financial for these isolated families, whose alpaca mowing is often the only source of income. Consequently, we decided to put them in contact with the best furriers in the country to transform these furs. Everything is done in the Sicuani region. It is from this process that the INNATA range of fur products is born.

Available exclusively in the natural colors of the animal, alpaca fur Huacaya is a promise of suspended time and cocooning. Used as a plaid on a sofa or as a bedspread, its exquisite softness and its vaporous appearance will bring warmth and refinement to your interior decoration.

Pushing the limits of sustainable luxury in decorative textiles, we preserve our heritage by drawing on the various skills present in southern Peru and giving power back to alpaca breeders.

Soft and natural alpaca - Innata

The alpaca’s natural habitat is the Andean Altiplano, located between 4,000 and 5,500 altitude.

It is around 25 ° C during the day and down to -20 ° C at night. Alpacas survive these extreme conditions thanks to a thick layer of naturally thermoregulating and breathable down, ideal for facing the freezing Andean cold and not suffocating in the heat of the sun.

Transparent Mountain Peru - Innata

We carefully select and process the best quality fiber from thousands of Altiplano alpacas, with the greatest respect for animals, the environment and the people who work it, for the greatest pleasure of its users.

Fil alpaga - SOfter than cachemire

Baby alpacas are born with a delicate layer of down. They will be mowed from their first moult, upon entering adulthood, at the end of their second year.

Of a unique softness, we exclusively use this quality, the baby alpaca.
